Warriors’ campaign at the Fiba Africa Club Championship comes to an end today. The Ugandan representatives face Angolo’s Primero de Agosto but even victory won’t help matters for Warriors.
Warriors got eliminated after losing 54-95 to Congo Brazzaville’s Inter Club on Tuesday evening. The Brazzaville-based side outsmarted Warriors in all the four quarters, winning 21-17, 22-17, 21-07 and 31-13. The loss was Warriors’ second in a row following their opening day 71-70 faltering against Kenya Cooperative Bank of Kenya. The two losses imply that the Ugandan champions, who were playing Angola’s Benin’s Aspac last night, cannot make the semifinals.
Warriors travelled to Kigali with their new signing Brian Ssentongo but the upcoming centre player did little to help them make an impression. Ssentongo joined the Kyambogo side from Miracle Eagles.
