Premiero d’Agosto kept its invincibility run alive with a 94-74 points victory over Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria to land a semi-final ticket.
The exciting game one of the best played by the Nigerian and FIBA Africa Zone-III champion saw the defending champion winning three of the four quarters by 20-08, 28-20, 20-27 and 26-19 to set-up a semi-final battle against host APR Lions at 17h00.
Primeiro’s Mario Correia led his team with 17 points and 6 rebounds, Miguel Lutonda recorded 14 points, Carlos Almeida contributed 12 points just as the duo of Rodrigo Mascarenhas and Armando Costa added 11 and 10 points each with Joaquim Gomes grabbing 11 rebounds for the defending champion.
Kano Pillars points guard, Abubakar Usman led the floor with 21 points while the duo of Abdulrahman Mohammed and Anthony Koko added 11 points each.
