The Luanda-based Petro led their Congolese opponent from the start to finish winning in all four quarters by 17-09, 22-11, 25-18 and 28-22 points to further compound the diminishing fortune of the Mazembe side that now has a 0-2 record.

Mazembe’s Mbav Kabwit had a double effort of 18 points and 11 rebounds just as Kantu Kubala posted 11 points and 3 rebounds for their side.

Meanwhile, Ugandan representatives Warriors have one last chance to redeem themselves and stay in the tournament when they take on defending champions Primeiro de Agosto of Angola today.

The Ugandan side was thrashed by a physical Inter-club of Benin 54-95 yesterday.

Inter Club led in all quarters, with the Ugandan side looking fatigued and out of breath for most of the time.
