ASB Mazembe basketball club of Democratic Republic of Congo Thursday played one of the best game of it lives coming from a near defeat to edge past Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria by 75-74 points to finish third in group-B.
Pillars had taken a half-time lead of 41-35 points (25-22 and 16-13) only to sucuumbed to Mazembe in the third quarter with a 22-15 points lose to enter the last quarter with 57-56 points deficit as the DRC Congo side held on for a final quarter scores of 18 points apiece.
Mbav Kabwit led the floor with a double double effort of 21 points and 10 rebounds while Mazembe Kayembe Mudiandambo added 21 points and 9 rebounds to give their side a well deserved victory over the Nigerian side.
