TANZANIA : Tanzania falters in Zone Five basketball

Former Vijana's ace Abdullah Ramadhan Dulla inspired Kyambogo Warriors of Uganda to beat JKT 67-51 points in the Fiba Zone Five Basketball Championship.

Playing at YWCA court in Kampala on Tuesday, Dulla displayed extraordinary skills that left his compatriots in deep anguish.
The hosts introduced Dulla in the first quarter of the match and his wide international experience sank the Tanzanians.
Dulla made an immediate impact as he notched up 16 points to put the hosts in strong position to emerge victorious.
Kyambogo's captain Brian Gumisiriza, who was replaced by Dulla after sustaining an injury, managed to score 12 points.
Gerald Baru of JKT played heroically to chalk up 12 points, but they were not enough to rescue his team.
JKT have failed to post a win in their first two games, thus derailing their hopes of clinching the coveted regional trophy.
The Tanzanian champions lost their first encounter to DMark Power of Uganda by 89-53 on Monday.
JKT's expert shooters Charles Mekene, Frank Kusiga and Juma Kissocky did not show a glimpse of their usual brilliance.
It was the third defeat for Tanzanian flag bearers as ABC also bowed out to Kenya Port Authority (KPA) after being demolished 102-63.
Three-point expert Musa Hodari inspired his team to ease past hapless ABC who relied on their playmakers Gilbert Batungi and Haleluya Kavalambi.
The head coach of ABC, Leonard Kwale, said their defeat was down to fatigue after travelling a long distance to Kampala.
"We had to play barely an hour after arriving here, so the loss is understandableI didnt expect them to perform miracles,"he said.

Following results of the preliminary matches, Tanzanians teams have a slim chance to sail through to the quarterfinals.
