Cargo Boys made impressive start in the Dar es Salaam Dream Cup basketball qualifiers after posting hefty 46-27 point win over Sinza Warriors at the National Indoor Stadium.
One of the favourite teams in a chase for a place in Dar es Salaam basketball premiership next season(Kili RBA), Cargo Stars won lucrative sponsorship from CXC company to boost their hunt for the event�s top throne.
The team's manager Oswald Kaseka said the sponsorship boosted the morale of the players, most of being secondary school students.
"We need to win only two matches to book our place into the Kili RBA next season,"said Kasekwa.
Tan Blacks defeated Airwing Boys 42-29 in a one sided-encounter at the same venue. The winners were leading 23-15 until the end of the first half.
Kanyota Mgawe who posted 15 points was the match's top scorer followed by Harold Arnold who fired 10 points while Airwing's justice Mwasakyeni managed to chalk 13 points.
The league continues today when Chang'ombe United face Cargo Airwing before Cargo Boys taking on Bias in the second match.
Eight teams are taking part in the league to hunt for tickets to play in Kili RBA next season. Six teams play in men�s category while the remaining two feature in the women�s pairing.
The women teams are Hooplife Queens and CMTU the men�s category has Chang'ombe United, Sinza Worriors, Tanblacks, Airwing Boys and Cargo Boys.
