Dar es Salaam Mini Basketball League starts today at the National Indoor Stadium featuring eleven clubs.

Dar es Salaam basketball body technical committee director Manase Zablon said then teams play in the tournament to seek promotion to the region's premier league(Kili RBA) whose season starts early next year.
He said the tournament's best four teams would qualify to play in the premiership.
"We expect to see stiff competition, commitment and better skilled players in the entire tournament for most of the players taking part in the event were in the Dar es Salaam team that won National Secondary School title," he said.

The best two teams from mens discipline and other two from women category will be involved in the promotion to the top league, according to Zablon.

However, he warned the teams to keep away from indiscipline or else they would face immediate relegation when caught.
Zablon said Chang'ombe United who were suspended in 2007 for indiscipline are among the teams competing in todays event.

Others include Police Barracks, Airwing Boys, Ilala Flats, Vijana Queens and Hooplife Queens.

Changombe United team's Jai Kasoga said his players were well drilled to claim the title and get a ticket to return to the premiership next season.
"The two-year suspension was painful to my players and the whole club. We promise our fans to bring them back to the glorious days," said the coach.
Chang'ombe will be under their stars Amani Temba, Adam Jegame and Abdallah Kavashe na Zwalo Makani.
