Defending League champions DMark Power have braved so many storms to retain top spot in the NTN-Fuba National Basketball League and they can afford to stroll as the first round reaches its final stretch.

Having banked on detonating in the final quarter to cruise past Miracle Eagles, Knight Riders, Kyambogo Warriors and UCU Canons, Power will be hoping for a more comfortable eighth 8th win as they face bottom-placed KCC Lions at Lugogo Indoor Stadium this evening.

Power have all their opening seven games in the 10-team league team and will provide KCC the second last stop in terms of preparations for next month’s Fiba Zone V Africa Club Championships in Kampala.

Coach Brian Wathum has been able to tinker with the avalanche of talent that Power possess without necessarily derailing the team’s progress but today provides a chance for the fringe players like Michael Kojo to impress.
Reigning MVP Ben Komakech has started reproducing last season’s form especially at the charity line and will take the burden off skipper Norman Blick and Isaac Afidra who have carried the team while Joseph Ikong must come to the party.

In Division II, Bushcourts will seek to record their fourth victory over Livingstone. In the only women’s game of the day, former champions Lady Bucks face University side Makerere Sparks.
