The first edition of the First Deepwater Classics open Monday at the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos with two games on the bill.
According to information made available to the sporting world by the organizers of the 3-Day Classics, Nigeria perennial women league champion, First Bank basketball club of Lagos will open the floor against Inspector General of Police (I.G Queens) basketball club at 14.00 hours local time.
And at 16.00 hours host First Deepwater basketball will take to the floor against Sunshine Angels basketball club of Akure.
The tournament which is also meant to serve as pre-season tournament is coming at a time when the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF is set to announce the commencement date for the 2008/2009 Zenith Bank Women League.
First Deepwater head coach, Lateef Erinfolami is optimistic that his wards will put to good use all they have learnt in practice in the past 14 weeks.
