Defending champions, ABC, will be out to take on fierce opponents JKT today in the blockbuster final of the National Basketball League (NBL) in Mwanza.

The match is deemed competitive due to strengths of both sides. They have won all their league matches.

Champions ABC have vowed to put in superb display in a bid to retain the prestigious national title.

Their coach Leonard Kwale said they were well-prepared for the match and promised to emerge victorious.

"My players are in top shape and so far everything has gone in our favour, thus I expect them to win the tie," Kwale said.

However, the coach said they would miss their playmaker Gilbert Batungi who is suffering from malaria.

He said: "JKT are a big team with impressive recordswe respect them, but unfortunately they are not going to lift the trophy."

ABC player, Godfrey Bayeke, was buoyed up by their recent displays. He promised fans to outdo the opponents and win the title for the second year in a row.
On his part, JKT coach Tubert Matiku heaped praises on ABC, saying they have been indomitable of late.
"They play very well and many people consider us underdogs, but I promise JKT will stage a daring fight to win the title,"Matiku said.

ABC will be relying on Lusajo Samweli, Batungi, Godfrey Bayeke and Philbert Mwaipungu while JKT have the likes of Juma Kisoki, Charles Makene and Mkumbo Mgendi.

The teams met twice in the previous tournaments and both won one and lost one match.
