GHANA : Hoops Queens and Jr. Hoops in weekend action
This weekend was full of action in the Hoops camp which saw its three teams traveling to Accra for matches. The female and junior teams were set to square off against the boys and girls of Tudu Magic. The first match saw Jr. Hoops squaring up with Magic in what was expected to be a game full of fireworks. It all started well for them and by half time Jr. Hoops lead a commanding 27-12. The second half for some reason or another saw the boys playing poorlyJumpball: Jr. Hoops vs Magic resulting in Magic catching up and taking the lead. Both teams had 38pts each when Magic made the final shot with less than ten seconds on the clock. Final score, Magic 40-38 Jr. Hoops. The girls seeing the boys going down could not accept to be beaten and in the next match they outclass their opponents winning a convincing score of 24-31. This win is their first in playing outside of Cape Coast. Many who watch their plays recommended that they play in the female league which starts next month. The Queens were superior in rebounds in the paint. The Hoops Queens which had three girls standing at 6'1" controlled the boards and Magic received a lot of blocks from the Queens forwards. We wish them good luck in their campaign to rule the female section as their male counterparts are doing presently.
