NIGERIA : Gallant First Deepwater stresses First Bank

Nigeria rave of the moment First Deepwater basketball club of Lagos Wednesday gave a good account of themselves when it stresses the nation perennial women club champion, First Bank basketball in the last day of the First Deepwater basketball classics played at the sports hall of the national stadium, Lagos.

The Coach Lateef Erinfolami tutored Oil & Gas ladies thrilled the large crown that thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of the best of women basketball action.

Though the First Deepwater side lost by a narrow score-line of 66-63 points but it was enough to send a clear message to the Elephant girls who have dominated the Nigerian local scene for close to a decade that it might not be business as usual.

Speaking shortly after the energy sapping match, club Engr. Babatunde Babalola told journalists that he is proud of the performance of his players and believed that the table would turn against the champion very soon.

First Deepwater small forward, Ijeoma Uchendu was adjudged the best player of the 3-Day tournament.
