Himid Choka's terrific performance inspired JKT ease past Chui 74-30 in a Charity Basketball match held yesterday at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Choka, who teamed up well with veteran Charles Makene posed constant threats to Chui throughout the encounter.
The budding player chalked up 20 points to emerge the match's top scorer while his striking partner Makene managed 17 points.
JKT, who looked too strong and experienced to their opponents, finished the first half with a commanding 44-10 lead.
Chui scored most of their points through Benedicto Mwakangale who notched up 12 points and Joseph Mbozu scored nine points.
JKT, one of the basketball giants in the country, fielded several young players, but Jimmy Brown who starred at the centre of the court caught the eyes of many spectators.
Another match saw ABC edge out Chang'ombe Boys 77-72 in a fiercely contested match at the same venue.
ABC showed grit to win right from the start whistle and managed a11-8 lead at the end of the first quarter before Chang'ombe responded strongly to lead 35-34 in the second half.
Rejuvenated ABC extended their lead to 52-44 in the third quarter and added 25 points in the final quarter, which were enough to guarantee them the victory.
Stephen Charles of ABC was the match's top scorer after notching up 28 points while his teammate Joseph Mbozu scored 12.
The tournament, which started on October 17 will reach its climax on October 24.
