Antananarivo (21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women) - South Africa women national team Monday threw away a begging chance for them to pick their second win against Mozambique as action resume in the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The South Africa had rallied to a 16-11 points win in the first quarter only to succumb to the Mozambican in the second and third quarter 15-09 and 19-13.
Effort made to come back into the game could only yield a 12-09 point’s win in the last quarter as the Mozambique held their ground.
Mozambique Leia Dongue led the floor with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steal to seal victory for her side while South Africa Emmerentia Lebwaba was the star of her side with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steal.
Mozambique play her last group-A game against host Madagascar on Wednesday while South Africa will engageCameroon.
