IF league form is anything to go by, then there is a very big chance that new league champions APR could meet Marines in this year’s play off final.
The indomitable lions begin their play-off campaign today with a clash against Cercle Sportif (CSK) while Espoir encounter 2007 champions Marines tomorrow at Amahoro indoor stadium.
After the best of three contests, the winning teams will progress to the final which will also be a best of three gala.
Cliff Owuor’s side will hope to build on their 100 per cent record that saw them clinch a fourth league title in five years. APR amassed 28 points while Marines finished second, four points adrift.
On the other hand, APR’s former players Aboubacar Barame and Bunene Kajeguhakwa are desperate to guide Marines to their first title since 2007.
The play-offs will help APR prepare for the upcoming Fiba-Africa Club Championship. The December event will be staged at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.
