The female team of Rwanda beat today Madagascar 64 – 57 friendly game played in the stadium of Antananarivo’s University. The game is a part of preparation of both teams ahead the 21th FIBA Africa Nations Championship for women (Afrobasket women 2009) to be played from 09th to 18th October 2009 in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
Madagascar started strongly the game with a win 16 – 14 in the first quarter before losing the second quarter 06 - 27 as the Rwanda squad reached the break with 41 – 22 points leading.
At the resume, Madagascar reduced the trail with 25 – 19 points win in the third quarter but despite losing the last quarter 08 – 10, Rwanda won the game with 64 – 57 points.
The game permitted to the two coaches, Ranadriai aimée (Madagascar) and Venceslas (Rwanda) to test and fitness teir respctive teams before the start of the competitio on 09th October 2009 as in the day 1, Madagascar will face Mauritius in Group a while Rwanda will face Angola in group B.
