The present board of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) has re-introduced the Annual General Meeting (A.G.M) for basketball, which was last held in 1996.
The re-introduced AGM is billed for October 24 at the National Stadium Complex, Abuja.
The AGM according to the Secretary General of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) Francis Gbiri will discuss among other important issues, activities of the board from 2007 to date.
The federation will also discuss 2010 programmes, take a critical look at the federation’s sponsorship drive and funding of the numerous programmes lined-up by the NBBF to further raise the standard of the game in the country.
Other important issues to be looked at includes hosting of various age-group competitions in the years ahead as the federation is prepared to inject new programmes into it’s calendar and make existing ones more competitive for the growth of the game.
Those expected at the AGM that will be presided over by the federation president, Alhaji Tijjani Umar, includes state association chairmen and their secretaries, club-owners, zonal-representatives on the board of the Nigeria Basketball House, board members of the NBBF and other stake-holders.
Delegates are to arrive on October 23 for the AGM and depart on October 25.
