As curtain fall on the FIBA Africa Championship for U16 Men today in Maputo, Mozambique two countries (Mali and Egypt) will be battling to pick the continent sole ticket to the 2010 FIBA World Championship for U17 Men.
To reach the grand finale of the championship the young Malian team defeated Algeria by 83-53 points in the first semi-final played Friday while the young Pharaohs defeated Nigeria by 74-71 points to set the final clash between both countries with Nigeria and Algeria both from group-B battling for the continents third best cadet team.
In the classifications games also decided Friday host Mozambique had the better of Central Africa Republic by 63-57 points in a thrilling encounter just as Angola rode rough-shod over South Africa by 75-58 points.
Mozambique and Angola will tango for placement 5-6 while South Africa battles Central Africa Republic for position 7-8.
