Islanders basketball club of Lagos continue its unbeaten run in the Atlantic conference of the DSTV Basketball League with a 79-73 points victory over Union Bank basketball club also of Lagos.
The win by the Coaches Ogoh Odaudu and Shina Wahab tutored Islanders side thus completes a double over the bankers having defeated them by 115-93 points in their first meeting last month.
Union Bank basketball club came into the game with vengeance in mind winning the first quarter narrowly by 15-13 points while the charged Islanders players came back strongly in the second quarter with a 17-16 points win to move into the break with one point deficit of 31-30 points.
Upon resumption of play in the third quarter, the Shola Alayande captain Islanders raided the Union Bank side making good use of court run and vision to dominate their opponent winning the third and fourth quarters 26-20 and 23-22 points to maintain it hundred percent record with a 79-73 points victory.
Islanders combo guard, Anyebe Alexandra led his side with 17 points, forward Kingsley Aguara added 16 points just as the duo of Cameroon import; William Ndoumbe and Azuoma Dike contributed 14 points each.
Union Bank small forward Ugbede Oguches 19 points and Seyi Ayodele 14 points were not enough to save their side from defeat.
