The head coach of Liberia Basketball Champions NPA Pythons Matthew Gbarmore is appealing to the management of the National Port Authority and the NPA Sports Association to come to his aid.
Coach Matthew Gbarmore is appealing to the NPA Management to assist him with air ticket to Budapest, Hungary where hes expected to under go three months studies at the Semmelweiss University.
The scholarship for the Liberian coach was made possible by the International Olympic Committee and Olympic Solidarity through the Liberian National Olympic Committee (LNOC). According to Coach Gbarmore, he wrote the management of the NPA almost three months ago to assist with his air ticket and was frustrated few days ago when the management informed him that they could not help him.
Coach Gbarmore has won five championships as coach of the NPA Pythons basketball team and has been to the final seven times. The young Coach has few days left for his departure. He suppose to travel to Abuja, Nigeria to obtain visa for Hungary as there is no Hungarian Embassy in Liberia. The coach who walked into our office in a frustrated mood said, his trip to Hungary will also be felt by athletes in the country.
Hes also appealing to well meaning Liberiana to come to his aid. Matthew Gbarmore is also head coach of the Liberian under 17 basketball team of Liberia. Scholarship students usually transport themselves on this program and they are reimbursed upon arrival.
