This year’s annual Olumide Oyedeji Basketball Camp scheduled to dunk-off on the 23 August will be staged to honour Rob Muers, who died last year in April in a motorcycle accident
According to Olumide Oyedeji, the camp wants to honour the Dutch, who served as the Camp Director since inception until his death on 10 April, 2009.
He said: “Rob Muers meant a lot to me as a person, my career and this programme. This was a man that went the extra mile to assist us in every way. I was shocked when I learnt about his death. So the great honour I could give him is to hold this year’s edition in his honour.”
According to Oyedeji, the 2010 camp, which will be held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, will feature at least 300 young players.
15 Nigerian coaches, who are specialists in the training of kids will participate in the camp.
He disclosed that the camp, which will feature young players between ages 7 to 17 years, will end on 28 August.
