GHANA : ONLY A MIRACLE CAN UNSEAT CEPS – BAAFI

The defending champions capped an incredible decade of total supremacy by winning the championship for the 10-year running, thereby raising concerns about the monotony of the Greater Accra basketball league.

CEPS won the league without dropping a point in the 13-week championship – a feat that has been consistent with the champions for the past years. They look like a side who can dominate the championship for the next five or so years if the other teams do not measure a strategy to neutralize Coach Braimah Lawah’s side.

CEPS’s domination has raised questions about the competitive nature of the league and you may hate it or like it, but they remain the country’s peerless side.

The former Vice-Chairman of the Ghana basketball Association who doubles as an executive member of CEPS reckons his side is capable of holding onto the championship for the next decade.

‘If you look at what we’ve done in the past ten years, it will take a miracle for any team to unseat us’ Baafi told basketballghana.com

‘We have a very strong team and the rest of the competing teams must do more than they’re doing now to clinch the championship under our feet’

He added: ‘We have never been complacent and that is how and why we’ve become so successful on the local scene. We are still growing stronger and I don’t see any other winner in the next couple of years apart from our team’

Cape Coast based Hoops and Warriors gave a good account of themselves last season with some amazing games but that was not enough to dethroned CEPS.

They have promised to bounce back next season and so we wait to see how it would work out!
