The Nigeria Basketball Federation has concluded plans to arrive Lome, Togo on Sunday for the FIBA Africa Championship for Men Zone-III Qualifiers.
According to a release by the Nigeria federation, the country will be represented by twelve players, two coaches, a team Doctor and an accompany referee.
The twelve players who will fly the Nigeria flag at the qualifiers billed for august 10 through 15 are drawn mainly from the Nigeria DStv Premier League and they include, Abubakar Usman, Ibrahim Yusuf, Mathew Omonya and Kelvin Nambam from Kano Pillars; Azuoma Dike and Onyeka Ekpete made the list from Union Bank basketball club; Ebun Comets and Dodan Warriors basketball club has Yomi Joshua and Mohammed Bukar; Adeolu Olaiya is called up from Kada Stars basketball club Musa Usman from Royal Hoopers basketball club while Stanley Gumut and Boniface Edegbe who plies their trade in the Middle East complete the list.
The two coaches who will tinker the team at the Zone-III elimination are Sani Ahmed from Kano Pillars and Adeka Dauda from Dodan Warriors basketball club, the team Doctor is Dr. Bukonla Bojuwoye while the accompany referee is FIBA graded referee Babatunde Popoola.
Nigeria will slug it out against host Togo, Benin Republic and Cote dIvoire for a place in 2011 FIBA Africa Championship for Men holding in Abidjan Cote dIvoire and the 10th All Africa Games in Zambia.
