At the start of the MTN-Fuba League season, writing off Mountain Dew Falcons was an oat meal but DMark Power, whom they face at YMCA court, Wandegeya this evening know it isn’t.
A massive exodus only spelt doom for the six-time champions as hardly did anyone know where Falcons were headed after stars Henry and Eric Malinga (Warriors) plus Steven Omony (free agent), with five MVP crowns between them, jumped ship.
To keep true to the third law of motion in physics which is stated as ‘action and reaction are equal and opposite,’ Falcons recruited massively across the East African region to stay competitive.
This has translated into a six-match winning streak as Mike Buzangu, Richard Osano Omondi, Karim Aine Nkusi, Bienvenu Ngandu and Cedric Siraninzi have become instant hits.
However, Power, beaten once this season, cannot be overawed as a cast Norman Blick, Ben Komaketch, Isaac Afidra, Boniface Okello and mercurial Joseph Ikong are formidable on their day.
“This is the kind of game we look forward to every other season,” Blick, who is been playing through pain in his left hand to stay fit, said.
