SEYCHELLES : Hawks receive tracksuits for IOCC trip
CHAMPIONS PLS Hawks have received new tracksuits for their forthcoming trip to Madagascar to take part in the Indian Ocean Club Championship (IOCC) in July.
The team got their brand new red and white tracksuits from sponsors – the Morin Group – on Wednesday afternoon during a training session at the Les Mamelles court.
Morin Group managing director Paul Morin presented a sample of the tracksuits to team manager Gætan Pierre in the presence of Timothy Morin – also of the Morin Group – players, coaches and onlookers.
Paul Morin said this is the first time the Morin Group has sponsored the PLS Hawks team and hopes to give the team more help in the future.
“We feel that PLS Hawks are a very good team and that they need more support to do even better in the coming years. We will definitely make other donations later on,” said Mr Morin.
On accepting the 17 tracksuits, manager Pierre thanked the Morin Group and called on other companies to come forward to help promote sports in Seychelles.
“We are happy to receive these tracksuits; such a donation is a big boost for the team ahead of the IOCC,” said Mr Pierre.
“We welcome such donations and I would like to call on all those who feel that they can help financially, and in kind, to do so to help bring Seychelles’ sports to the highest possible level as it is quite difficult for teams to raise funds.”
The IOCC will take place from July 12-19 and defending men’s division one champions PLS Hawks are expected to leave on July 10.
Women’s champs HotShots are also expected to take part in the yearly tournament.
