On the surface, one win from the opening two games in the MTN-Fuba League does not paint such a bleak picture of DMark Power’s season. Every team, no matter the resources, is allowed to lose a game. Nonetheless, the manner of defeat must represent character.

In their 91-87 loss to UCU Canons, Power lacked character which won them the title two years ago and the chance to put a few wrongs right presents itself in facing struggling Knight Riders at YMCA court tonight.

Coach Andrew Baziira (sick daughter), Norman Blick (swollen hand) and Carrol Bisereko (illness), who missed the loss, could all return. “She’s much better and I should be able to sit on the bench. An early loss in the season isn’t as bad since we have time to rectify it with new strategies,” Baziira told Daily Monitor yesterday.

Without him, Power looked disorganised, often miss-timing substitutions and failed to pick rebounds. But Power’s Isaac Afidra, last year’s regular season MVP, is out with a calf injury.
