Uhuru Kings winning spree in the LBF first division Championship has been put to a halt.
The Kings one hundred percent record in the league was broken on Sunday evening following an unthinkable lost to Champions NPA Deadly Pythons at the Sports Commission.
It was an impressive showdown in which Pythons showed class, were unstoppable and out played the Kings with so much energy.
In truth, Uhuru Kings were not calculative on the night -missing a significant number of free throws with their big man Mark Smith leading the way.
So, NPA Pythons did the harm to them by winning the tie 70-61.
Their head coach Matthew Gbamore says it was an extraordinary win for his side.
Its an extraordinary win for us because we have been fighting to come back on top and we have come back on the top today. And it shows that the players are focused to go to the final once more he said.
We are on top once more to show to our basketball populace that we are the champions said Gbamore.
Well, Uhuru Kings Deputy Coach Philip Kpawon thinks his side were not at their best on the evening.
They didnt play well. They didnt play as a team. They didnt play the game they are used to playing a rather frustrated Philip asserted.
If you look at the free throws and look at the margin, you will know that if they had played we could have won the game he noted.
Dixville Dragons defeated Desert Kings 39-41 in Sundays first match at the Sports Commission which was in the third division category.
K. Deltas scored a 59-54 victory over rivals C. Deltas in a female league outing in game two.
The championships continued on Saturday with Desert Ladies, Cestos Mogans and Flames all picking up wins.
Desert Ladies dumped SOS Trotters 60-15 in a one sided female pairing in game one.
Game two witnessed Csetos Mogans scoring a smiling 81-56 victory against St. Paul Crushers.
Flames continued their struggle in the first division championship by securing a 64-56 win at the expanse of Urban Invaders.
