KIU 72-56 Power Heaters
Markmot Orom has been the foundation upon which KIU Titans rose to become the third best team in the Fuba Basketball League behind Kyambogo Warriors, and DMark Power. His combination with Michael Kariuki and Isaac Mwinuka is a dream but even when the latter fail, Orom can stand on his own.
On Tuesday night, Orom sunk a sparkling 35 points in KIU’s 72-56 victory over Power Heaters in a rain-interrupted Sprite Challenge contest at YMCA court, Wandegeya. The result got KIU into today’s quarterfinals. The tournament is meant to provide team’s with sufficient warm-up before the league gets underway later this month.
Earlier, Norman Blick showed that his shooting is not rusty as he scored 39 points in DMark Power’s 142-21 win over TLC. Quarterfinals will be played this evening with league champions Kyambogo Warriors facing Charging Rhino. Nkumba Marines clash with Heaters, while St. Michael are in KIU’s path.
