ZAMBIA : The secretary General met the Zambia Federation

In margin of the opening ceremony of a new sports centre for youth on the outskirts of Zambia’s capital city Lusaka on 11th May 2010 that he attended alongside FIBA’s secretary General, Patrick Baumann and the President of IOC, Jacques Rogge, the secretary General of FIBA Africa, Dr, Alphonse Bilé met a delegation of Zambia Basketball Association.

The delegation composed by the President, Kambikambi Boniface, vice president, Kalema Sydney, Secretary General, Musuka Otem and the Treasurer, Mafuleka Jackson, met the secretary general of FIBA Africa at the Intercontinental Hotel of Lusaka, Zambia.

At the meeting, the newly elected federal Board led by Kambikambi Boniface has been introduced to the secretary General of FIBA Africa. The elections were held on 6th March 2010.

During the meeting, the president of the Federation, M. Kambikambi Boniface, exposed the problems that restrain the development of Basketball in the country.

The Secretary General of FIBA Africa, Dr Alphonse Bile gave some advices and invited all the basketball stakeholders of Zambia to unite for the development of the game. Il said that the Association will receive balls and sports equipments from FIBA Africa in the framework of its Assistance programme to National federations.

He wished that the new Executive Board promotes the game by increasing its local and continental activities.
