Upon promotion to the MTN-Fuba League last year, Ndejje University Angels enjoyed a brilliant start but the common second season syndrome could be catching up with them. Losing to Kyambogo Warriors and Mountain Dew Falcons in their last two games was never the ideal preparation for their side’s clash with UCU Canons at YMCA court, Wandegeya this evening.

As Ndejje rose, UCU flirted with relegation last year but in stark contrast, the sides look to be headed in different directions, at least for now. The latter have been the most impressive team in the division so far having won their opening three games while Ndejje have looked disjointed. “You cannot compare Falcons to UCU. Against Falcons, we were nervous but that won’t happen again,” Ndejje’s coach Walker Obedi said defiantly.

Adding; “We beat UCU twice last year but they are a much better side now with Jimmy (Enabu) and Geoff (Omondi).”
Later on, Martin Okwako will not make in time for Warriors when they face Nkumba Marines. “We expect Martin to return on Thursday but the players we have are doing the job for now as they continue getting used to each other,” Philip Wandukwa, Warriors assistant coach, explained. Only Markmot Orom of Warriors’ new crop has shown glimpses of his best. Elsewhere, women’s league champions KCC Leopards face Amazon Rhino.
