SEYCHELLES : National League - Baya extend win run

FORMER men’s division one champs Baya and Premium Cobras have extended their winning runs to five games, while reigning champions PLS Hawks have bounced back from defeat with a century win.
Paced by small forward Dave Roseline with 20 points, Baya beat Cascade Bullets 84-61 to garner their 10th point and fifth victory in the 10-team two-round championship.
They are level on points with Premium Cobras, who got a game-leading 24 points from Nigerian playmaker Michael Ohiero in an 88-54 victory over RC Dynamics, who lost skipper Jean-Paul Desaubin with a broken arm in the opening minutes of the first quarter. Amadou Sylla added 18 points in the Cobras’ fifth victory on the trot.

After losing 65-75 to Premium Cobras in their previous match, PLS Hawks bounced back in style to reach the century mark in a big win – 106-71 – over Angels.
Nigerian Alao Solomon had the hot hands for the Hawks with 26 points, while veteran power forward Jim Domingue added 16.
Angels’ fourth defeat came two days after they had celebrated only their second victory on a 92-68 score against strugglers RA Herons.

Barry Dubignon netted 15 points, including three 3-pointers, and Keiren Agathine buried four treys for 12 of his 13 points.
Keven Romain came alive in the second quarter to carry Mont Fleuri Dawgz’ scoring load with 15 points to help his team record a 74-59 victory over winless Razors, who are finding the going very tough in the top flight.

In the only women’s match on last week’s programme, Anse Etoile Stars’ five-strong army registered a 73-26 win over Juniors. Centre Simone Malbrook scored 20 points for the Stars, who are equal on points – four – with Mont Fleuri after two wins apiece.

In the men’s division two, Anse Etoile beat AAP Brothers 66-62, Anse Boileau-based Drifters defeated Praslin Warriors 79-58 and Beau Vallon Heat registered a 43-30 win over Juniors.
