MALE basketballer of the year Rodney Lozé, who plays for PLS Hawks, will be out of the game for the rest of the season after being hit with a one-year ban.
The international centre was hit with a technical foul for misconduct during a league match against Cascade Bullets.
This is not the first time Lozé has been hit with a lengthy banned. The first time was in 2004.
Team coach Clifford Joubert said they will appeal the ban.
“We don’t mind the ban. He has made his mistake and deserves to be banned but not such a lengthy ban. We will appeal against the decision,” said coach Joubert.
Club manager Gaëtan Pierre and RC Dynamics’ player James Joubert, who was in the stands, have also been banned until the end of the first round of the league.
