NIGERIA : AHIP crush Delta to create another shock result in Women's Premier League

Surprise results continued to rule the second phase of the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) organised Zenith Bank Women's Premier League as teams considered to be outsiders got the better of the favourites on Day 3.

After FCT Angels of Abuja created a big shock in Nigeria basketball with a 47-43 points win over highly-rated Dolphin of Lagos on Tuesday, it was the turn of fast-rising AHIP of Kano on Wednesday as they hammered hosts Delta Force of Asaba 71-51.
The win reminded fans of the scintillating performance the Kano-based youthful AHIP side had against First Bank of Lagos in the first phase of the league in Kaduna last year.
Meanwhile, First Deepwater picked up where they left off by putting on a stellar performance to cruise past Nigeria Immigration 94-59 and remain unbeaten.

For the third day in a row, Nigeria Customs did not show up in Asaba and therefore their opponents on the day, Dolphin were handed a walk-over.

In other results, Plateau Rocks squeezed past FCT Angels 52-51 while First Bank avenged a first phase setback against Sunshine Angels by beating them 81-50 to take second place in the standings behind First Deepwater.

Thursday's fixtures are: FCT Angels vs AHIP; Nigeria Immigration vs Sunshine Angels; Dolphin vs Delta Force; Plateau Rocks vs First Deepwater; Nigeria Customs vs First Bank.
