Defending champion of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF organised DSTV Premier League Kano Pillars basketball club will Saturday open its title defense against city rival, Adolescent Health and Information Project, AHIP basketball club in the Savannah conference of 2009/ 2010 NBBF/DSTV Premier League.
Pillars winner in the last two edition of the nations flagship league must be on guard to avoid an upset in its quest for a third straight title ambition.
Other savannah conference pairing billed for this weekend includes the battle in Minna between host Niger Potters basketball club and visiting Tapgun Rockets basketball club of Jos; Yelwa Hawks will host Kada Stars basketball club of Kaduna in the newly refurbised National Sports Commission gymnasium while the Kaduna outfit will stay back to do battle against Bauchi Net basketball club in the Multi-purpose Hall in Bauchi on Sunday.
In the Atlantic conference Dodan Warriors basketball club and Union Bank basketball club will entertain Lagos crowd in a local derby at the sports hall of the National Stadium, Lagos at 15H00 on Saturday.
The game will be broadcast live on SuperSport and on Sunday Delta Force basketball club will play host to Royal Hoopers basketball club of Port Harcourt at the Asaba Township Stadium by 16H00 while Police Baton clash with last season first runner-up Lagos Islanders in Lagos at 16H00.
