CHANG’OMBE United today whitewashed Mgulani JKT 73-48 in a one sided Dar es Salaam Region Basketball (RBA) league at the National Indoor Stadium.
The winners were irresistible from the word go, reducing their opponents to a mere novices. They took a 31-19 lead at the break.
Adam Jegame was the top scorer for Chang’ombe United, netting 22 points, while team mate Godfrey Mhoja netted 20 points.
Mgulani JKT highest scorer was Erick Livingstone, who managed 12 points. Other men’s category match saw Pazi beating PT Stars 59-48. The winners took a 30-12 lead at the break. Pazi’s Claudio Kipango and Lada Ikungulu netted 14 and 11 points respectively.
In the ladies category Cargo Ladies smashed Lady Lions 65-56. At the breather, the winners were behind 29-32.
However, they came rejuvenated to turn the score against their opponents. Cargo’s Asha Chege netted 28 points while team mate Judith Ilunda scored 9points. Lady Lion’s points were netted by Amina Ahmed (14) and Hadija Issa (9).
