LBERIA : LBF explains league delay

The Liberia Basketball Federation has been giving reasons for failing to kickoff its 2010 league season as planned for the second time.

The local basketball house scheduled to kick off the long awaited party on Thursday but their dream is no more a reality and a new date has been set for 5 February.

The group had earlier planned to jump start the league on 18 January.

Its Secretary General Fred Pratt told Star Sports the postponement of the league is due to one main.

He said the LBF took the decision in order to conduct a workshop for coaches of the various teams that are intending participate in the league.

According to Mr. Pratt the new FIBA rules on charging would be would be thought to the coaches during the exercise.

He assured the public that the league would start as planned this time and urged them not to get panic by the news.

A total 49 teams are expected to showcase during the league.

Of that number 11 are both first and female divisions teams, 13 are second division teams while14 are third division teams.
