Former Liberia Basketball Federation Most Valuable Player Mark Smith (178-G-87) on Sunday led Uhuru Kings to a 84-69 points defeat over LPRC Oilers. Mark Smith thrilled the many spectators with his exceptional skills that kept the many spectators dancing through out the entire match. The former MVP scored 34 points to the disbelief of the hundreds of basketball on Sunday. He was followed by team mate John Bing (198-F-90) with 14 points while Oilers Ben Dixon netted in 17 points.
Before that match, Road Runners fell to Island Calves 33-63 points in the in the third division. On last Saturday, Supreme Sister fell heavily to Angel Shooters 20-64 points.
The league kicked off last Friday February 5, 200 with some exciting matches taking place. In the opening match, Heats whipped Harbvel Pointers 64-46 points in the second division while Barnesville Celtic dumped FUBBA 65-53 points in another second division encounter and in the irst division, defending champions NPA Pythons slammed Dream Team II 84-65 points.
The league will continue today with Cardinal rubbing shoulders with Supreme Brothers in the in the second division while FUBBA will host St. Paul Crushers in the third division.
