UGANDA : Ndejje embark on soul searching

Tomorrow at YMCA
Falcons v UCU (8.30pm)
Miracle v Ndejje (5.30pm)
Women:
A-1 v MAK Sparks (7pm)

Last season, Ndejje University Angels and relegation could never have appeared in the same sentence. Then, Ndejje shot above their weight on their MTN-Fuba League division one debut, almost flirting with a play-off spot.

Now, the familiar second season syndrome has not spared coach Walker Obedi’s side. Ndejje have won only four of their opening 10 games to slip into the drop zone along with KCC Lions, St. Michael and Berkley.

Consequently, Ndejje’s game against Miracle Eagles tomorrow at YMCA court, Wandegeya is pivotal as the curtain comes down on a thrilling first round.
“The team has been lacking chemistry. So far, it’s been a bad season,” Obedi noted. But, the break is a welcome distraction. “There will be a lot to think about and chance during the break and return stronger,” he added.

Ndejje-Miracle is only a starter for the late thriller between Mountain Dew Falcons and UCU Canons. The latter have the only frontier yet to be breached this season but their coach Nick Natuhereza doesn’t feel the invincibility.

“Falcons are the team to beat. They have all the best players from across the (East African) region,” he said.
