Today at YMCA
Warriors v Falcons (7.30pm)
Women
KCC v A-1 (5.30pm)
Every team could afford as many mistakes as they liked during the first round of the MTN-Fuba League. That luxury will fade as second round starts this evening at YMCA court, Wandegeya.
The menu is enticing as champions Kyambogo Warriors and KCC Leopards clash with Mountain Dew Falcons and A-1 Challenge respectively after a delayed resumption due to bomb blasts about three weeks ago.
An average first round left Warriors, Uganda’s representatives in the Zone V Club Championships next month, trailing in fourth on 19 points, two behind leaders Falcons.
“Losing three games wasn’t so bad for a team trying to build an understanding,” a defiant Gad Eteu, the Warriors coach, told Daily Monitor. MVP Ronnie Kasewu lost his father last week and only resumed training on Wednesday but Makmot Orom is missing due to similar reasons.
Falcons offered glimpses of being the team to beat during the first as foreigners Mike Buzangu, Richard Osano Omondi and Biekenvenue Ngandu became instant hits.
In the women’s category, defending champions KCC face unbeaten A-1 Challenge.
