Nestle Nigeria Plc., sponsor of the annual Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship has unveiled plans for the national finals of the 12th edition of the tournament which is slated to hold from 5-9 October at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.
The Category Business Manager (Beverages) of the company, Walter Okafor, said at a press conference held to herald the tournament yesterday that the annual packaging of the tourney has yielded positive results not only with the players and coaches but also with the administrators.
“This championship is not restricted to developing only players and coaches in our basketball scene but administrators at all levels,” he said.
International School, UNILAG, will battle St. Augustine Seminary of Ebonyi and Marist Brothers Juniorate of Abia in Group A, while St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Benue will lock horns with Ahmaddiyya College, Kano and Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School, Bauchi in Group B.
In the girls category, Dalex Royal International School, Ilorin will confront Government Girls Secondary School, Adamawa and Government Day College, Zamfara in Group A, while Asaba Girls Grammar School (Senior), Queen Amina College, Kaduna and Annunciation Secondary School, Enugu will battle for survival in Group B.
