Barring a late decision by a member to stand, Ambrose Tashobya is to be re-elected unopposed as Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (Fuba) president.
The body goes to polls to choose office bearers for the next fours years today and Bob Buga, the current vice-president and previously rumoured to be interested in the top job, has declined to stand. “I am not standing (for president),” Buga said yesterday ahead of the elective assembly to be held at Kati Kati, Lugogo.
Tashobya, also Kyambogo Warriors patron, confirmed his candidature. “Yes, I will stand,” he said. Buga is, however, non-committal about seeking another term as vice-president.
The elections were initially scheduled for April but were postponed to allow time for a financial audit and constitutional review.
