UGANDA : Hoops stars to play in Estonia

A group of top East African basketball players have been invited to a camp that includes some of Europe’s top coaches, scouts and coaches in Estonia from July 28 to August 1.

Through VC Sports Solutions, a local basketball specialised agency that manages a string of players in the local league, several players could get an opportunity to join the paid ranks from the camp if they impress.
“During the camp, there will be a tournament, giving Ugandan players a chance to excel. They can be taken up by clubs there,” Joshua Ssentongo, the VC Sports Solutions director, said. Three Enabu brothers; Ivan, Jimmy and Emmanuel, Isaac Afidra, Ben Komakech, Joseph Ikong, Desmond Owili, Sam Gombya, Edwin Kateregga and Norman Blick are the Ugandan players set to benefit.

Warriors coach Mandy Juruni has been sourced to offer technical advice. Currently, Ssentongo is seeking visa waivers from the Germany embassy which handles Estonia consular services. Several European scouts will grace the camp to look out for talents.
