Ndejje University Angels joined the growing list of victims wrecked by Kyambogo Warriors in the latter’s quest to reclaim the MTN-Fuba League title.

Warriors recovered from a pedestrian start to thrash 77-45 on Sunday night thereby assuming sole leadership of the standings at 7-1, one game ahead of champions DMark Power and Miracle Eagles.
Ronnie Kasewu, MVP when Warriors won their only title two years ago, scored 16 points, five rebounds and four assists in what was a warm up for the clash with Miracle this Friday. Ndejje stood their ground a bit in the first two quarters which they clinched 12-12 and 13-10 to hold a slim lead.

Wounded lions
From then on, last year’s losing finalists played like wounded lions to close out the game 32-12 and 23-8, forcing Ndejje into a total of 24 turnovers, seven less than Warriors’ aggregate. Coach Walker Obedi tried to rally his side but they combined for only 14 assists whereas Warriors controlled this column with 25.
Forward Steven Okias added 16 points, point guard Ivan Enabu had 12 points, six assists and four steals and Henry Malinga added 10 to the winning effort. Geoffrey Soro dropped 13 points and nine rebounds on a tough evening for the university team.
