Ndejje University Angels came very close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in the MTN-Fuba League at YMCA court on Friday night.
They led by double digits for most of the game before KIU closed the margin to one point (55-56) with five minutes and 53 seconds to play in the fourth.
It helped to have Cyrus Kiviri gain his composure as he dominated the final minutes to lift Ndejje to a 70-61 victory to end a two-game skid.
Kiviri had a poor start but finished the game with a game-high 22 points and 10 assists missing only two of 10 free throws. “Cyrus came up big when the team needed something different. He is a good player,” Ndejje coach Walker Obedi said.
