Strathmore University’s women’s basketball team continued to post impressive results in this year’s Premier League.
They rocked Gladiators 45-40 in a tight weekend tie at the Nairobi’s Nyayo National Stadium.
The varsity students put coach Ronnie Owino’s Gladiators to task from the first whistle racing a 18-7 first quarter lead.
Having ended giants Eagle Wings unbeaten record (48-44), Strathmore under coach Sylvia Njeri proved a force to reckon with as they went up 24-21 at half-time.
Sprite Storms rediscovered their winning form to defeat Co-operative Bank 47-39 in a low scoring women’s tie.
Shem Otieno scored-game high 24 points to help Trail Blazers beat Africa Nazarene University 58-42.
Trail Blazers, who had rocked Kenya Navy 50-47 last weekend, led 23-21 at half-time.
Robert Andiwo added 11 for the winners while Andrew Kihumba shot 14 and team-mate Kennedy Macharia sunk nine for the students.
