Stephen Omony and Norman Blick didn’t check in for Miracle Eagles until the second quarter of their MTN Fuba League game with Nkumba Marines on Sunday night.
None of them looked worried when Miracle had a slow start except Colin Mukiza. They did come on to turn a small deficit into a double digit lead (53-40) at halftime. Omony finished with 18 points and seven rebounds whereas Blick got 14 to give Miracle an 82-74 victory in the MTN-Fuba League.
The play-off hopefuls have now won six on the bounce to ensure that the opening day loss to DMark Power looks like a result of eons past. This was much closer than they would have wanted it to be after Mukiza launched the onslaught with 14 points and 10 assists.
Marines took the first period 16-12 but trailed 14-29 in the second. A late fight back made the game exciting but Miracle had enough depth to close out the game.
