KENYA : Strathmore clip Eagle Wings’ supremacy

Pre-match favourites Strathmore University maintained their unbeaten record in the women’s basketball Premier League following their 48-23 win over Kenya College of Accountancy-University at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday.
The victory saw the Sylvia Njeri-coached varsity students – the only unbeaten team in the 12-team championship having won all their nine first leg matches – moved to the top of the table standings with 18 points.
They dislodged Eagle Wings from the summit to second spot on 17 points.
Melissa Akinyi hit a game-high 12 points for Strathmore while Lucy Machuma shot eight for the losers, who lie a poor ninth place with only one win from seven outings.

In other matches, Lakeside narrowly beat Africa Nazarene University 49-48, Parklands Baptist defeated TrailBlazers 39-36 and Flames of the USIU-A scorched Predators 47-37
World Hope pipped Lakeside 79-63 as Mennonites men hit Strathmore University 67-60 while Kenya Airports Authority walloped Kenya Polytechnic 55-28.
