In what has been a stop-start MTN-Fuba League season, Ndejje University Angels find themselves slowly becoming part of the folklore of Ugandan basketball.

Much as their second season has not been as good as the first when they finished sixth, Ndejje are creeping up the table. Today’s game against relegation-threatened Knight Riders at YMCA court presents Ndejje with an opportunity to continue the surge. Donald Ssali has been outstanding for the university side recently and his influence could all but ensure their safety.

Riders’ flair and obsession with transition is yet to bear any fruits. Rogers Odiama, Ivan Mutabazi and Edward Kabanda have blown hot and cold but must stand tall to make today’s game competitive despite the team’s inability to hold firm in the paint.

In the women’s A-1 Challenge, beaten only once this season, face beleaguered Crane High School while Amazon Rhino clash with Nabisunsa in a game of strugglers.
