PLS HAWKS reached the century mark on Sunday at Victoria Gymnasium, while Mont Fleuri Dawgz had their lead cut but held on for a win over RC Dynamics.
With soldier Daniel ‘Yellow’ Victor carrying their scoring load with 28 points, including two 3-pointers, PLS Hawks clocked up a century, beating Angels 102-55.
Nigerian Alao Solomon (21 points), captain Bernard Bristol (16), centre Rodney Lozé (14) and veteran power forward Jim Domingue (11) all scored in double figures for coach Clifford Joubert’s team.
Angels’ Barry Dubignon netted four shots from downtown for 12 of his team-leading 18 points, while David Boniface added 14.
Also on Sunday, Mont Fleuri Dawgz almost lost the plot as RC Dynamics closed a 12-point deficit to 2, but could not equalise.
With Nigel Cafrine netting 19 points before fouling out, and playmaker and captain Reggie Ah-kong scoring 16 points including 8 from the foul line, the Dawgz celebrated a 65-60 win over RC Dynamics.
Wilby Domingue finished as the game’s best scorer with 21 points but it was not enough to earn RC Dynamics a win.
They also had Ronny Julius (13 points) and Emmanuel Jupiter (11) scoring in double figures before leaving the game early with five personal fouls apiece.
Meanwhile, RA Sisters dominated Cadettes 98-16 in a women’s match.
Skipper J. Mathiot had the hot hands for RA Sisters with a game-high 44 points and Leona Zacek added 20.
S. Rose netted two 3-pointers and finished as Cadettes’ best scorer with 8 points.
