UGANDA : Miracle set to face off with KIU

By Charles Mutebi

The Miracle Eagles are paying the price of chasing a belated playoff dream.

“Every game for us is like a final,” revealed Miracle’s mercurial guard Collin Mukiza.

Miracle take on the KIU Titans in the FUBA men’s top flight at YMCA and the feeling in Brian Rugyendo’s team is unmistakable. There is no margin for error.
“We must beat KIU, we have no choice,” added Mukiza.

The Eagles lost five games in the first round to put a massive hole in their playoff hopes. However, the second round has brought a new sense of belief, sparked by Steven Omony’s signing and Miracle’s performance in the just concluded Zone Five tournament which Mukiza described as “averagely good”.

The Eagles upset the Kyambogo Warriors 59-54 in Burundi to get the belief that perhaps the playoffs may not be out of reach. That is because it increasingly looks like if Miracle are to get into the playoffs, it will be at Kyambogo’s expense.
